I think the best two ways to describe me .. I can surprise and I usually do things later in life than most people especially when it comes to work and moving house, oh the times I've called friends and family to tell them I've sold my house and moving on ... think it's about seven times now!
As for the work life. It has been known for the same to apply. I've worked in a variety of fields from retail, civil service, training and development, management and broadcasting. The latter being where I am now.
I'm currently a regular presenter for Gems TV, previously called Rocks.TV, which I started doing Spring of 2009. Working in live television is an amazing experience and I love coming to work everyday, in fact I don't really think of it as work as I enjoy myself - far too much probably!
Before joining Rocks TV, I spent a fair few years in radio. I started out doing Hospital Radio, moving to community broadcasting and then working for Trafficlink providing travel bulletins for radio stations including national stations. Given that exposure I was asked to present shows for BBC Coventry & Warwickshire and even now I provide regular cover for them for various shows across the schedule and, I think it fair to say, a now Christmas tradition as I usually host the Christmas Day and New Year's Day breakfast or mid morning shows.
I enjoy doing a variety of things so being able to work for BBC local radio as well as my television programmes for Gems TV is great for me.
Both are popular but very different ways of communicating and require differing skill sets. Having the opportunity to do both keeps me on my toes!
